Christmas Carol Service 2013

Sunday 8th December 2013

Once again we were delighted to welcome supporters and friends to our annual Carol Service at St Alban’s the Martyr Church in South Norwood.

As usual the service was conducted by Father Russell Lawson of St Alban’s.  A mixture of supporters old and new read the lessons and the audience sang the carols,  with great enthusiasm.

Mrs Sarah Lefevre and Mrs Joy Fraser-Amosun were kind enough to act as Patrons and Ms Cecelia Thomas and Ms Blanche Riby-Williams received the offertory as Grand Chief Receivers.

Mrs Margarette Stevens gave an excellent address on the theme of progress and in closing touched on a few of  the contributions  Nelson Mandela had made to the progress of peace, reconciliation and education  – a vision shared by Lottie for Sierra Leone.

Following the service, the traditional mince pies and mulled wine (tea and coffee for the drivers) donated by Trustees were served in the church hall.  Our guests  were able to talk in more detail with Trustees about what we had accomplished over the year and what the plans for 2014 entailed.
