Water Project Completed!

04/02/2013

We are delighted to tell you that for the first time REC Primary School in Hamilton has running water.  There are taps now outside the Head-teacher’s office, the toilet and the kitchen, significantly improving hygiene at the school.

The project came in 10% under budget for several reasons.  The headman of the village donated the timber needed and gave the school a discount on the sand; our project coordinator was able to obtain the water tank at a wholesale price.

The pictures show the taps with some of the teachers and students holding up their ‘thank you’ letters.

Thanks again to our friends and supporters for their unflagging support  –  it does make a difference!
